The Caribbean International School is a bilingual educational institution which operates officially under permit granted by the Ministry of Education of Panama, that offers students a bilingual college preparation diploma, and a commercial certificate at the end of 12 year of studies. (6 years of Primary education, 3 years of Junior High Studies and 3 years of High School Preparation). It carries the title “International” due to the varied nationality of the students and the curriculum which fosters a peaceful and harmonic co-existence among the different ethnic groups, while, at the same time, preparing them academically with the capacity to understand and respect all cultures and ideology.
Classes are given in English (total immersion) with the exception of Social Studies, Government and Labor Law, which by mandate of the Republic of Panama, must be administered in the native language of the country. (Spanish). The academic pensum also includes cultural subjects, and 3 years in French and Computer Science; the latter of which begins at the kindergarten level.
The curriculum provides for the formation of young people with a basic knowledge that permits them a sound development in the areas of Science, Humanities and Commerce, that are the basis of the many careers offered at Universities world-wide. Students are formed with a keen sense of ethics, morals, and respect; aside from the civic obligations mandatory of all civilized human beings.
The program demands the formation of sentiments of mutual respect and empathy towards the social environment in which they are immersed, creating a co-habitation based on understanding, the tolerance of the culture and rules which govern the varied nationalities of the world.
At the end of the program; graduates will be prepared to continue higher studies, be useful to society and capable of valuing themselves, co-existing in a civilized manner with this fellowman. Academically he will be prepared to:
